Sweatshops

When I think about sweatshops I always have this very negative image in my mind. I can see over worked human beings working in poor conditions. I believe this is something that no one should have to endure. I know in some of the third world countries this is all they know and have. The wage in which the people are working for is unacceptable. Ten cent here and fifty cent here is nothing compared to the wages paid here in the United States.

I know when it comes o fashion and clothing..it is cheaper to send it over seas and have the sweatshop. The price is much cheaper and I do agree if I had my own clothing line I would want to get things at a cheaper rate. What is not acceptable to me is the conditions that these human beings are in is nt fair. I wouldnt mind have things made in the sweatshops but there need to be more strict rules and regualtions.

The article that I read talked about the conditions for the children in these sweatshops. One thing that stood out most is when I read this section "The aisles we shop are lined with products made in factories that exploit child labor and fire and harass workers when they try to improve their lives by forming unions"(Stop Sweatshops). http://www.aflcio.org/corporatewatch/stop/
No child should be working at these young ages...it breaks my hearts to know people are living this way. I think when people are in the retail industry the nlock these types of images. This is something no one wants to talk about but this should be talked about..When will it stop and everyone says this is enough.
