Inside the fashion industry ethnicity is influenced due to the nature of the different ethnicity throughout the world. I think when the designer are influenced by or ethnicity's, he or she is being very inovative. In order to come up with new ideas one much be anle to tak an idea and run with it.
I was watching a runway show by Diane Von Furstenberg and it looked like some of her influences were inspired by these ethnicity; Mexico, India and Egypt, i notice all the bright colors like orange, pink and yellow. I think the line she did for spring 2009 was great. I also noticed a lot of scarfs and flowing materials.
I also checked at the Parsons Junior Fashion Show on you tube and a lot of the dresses where inspired by the ethnicity of china. The dresses were made like Kimonos, which were worn in the traditional China and are still worn today. I think that all designer should be influenced by other ethnicity's because it gives the designers more ideas. It also attraction more clientele for whatever particular brand. I would like to see more designers to use others ethnicity's for new ideas.

Trends of New York Fashion Week
New York has been a very fashion, trendy and unique city this week...due to the BIG fashion wee. This is were all designers put his or her new and trendy styles on the runway. While watching some of the runway shows, the one I enjoyed most was Betsy Johnson. It was very femine, sexy and sassy. I liked the fact that she had a lot of color. The texture and material look very classy. I noticed there was some fur, red, white and blue. Loved the fact that I seen strips, and fish net stockings. I think that Besty was gong after showing off the body of a women. I think her clothing line was something you could see someone wearing on a day to dat bases. There were many pattern, floral, circle and polka dots. If I could afford some of her newest designs I would defently wear them. Not mention the famous cartwheel at the end LOVE LOVE L0VE IT...
Looking at other designers I noticed a lot of detail. Many of the designers were putting hats, fur, and really high heels with his or her pieces. Ana Sui was a big hit as well. Everyone seems to be emphazing women, sexy sassy and feminie. I thought the styles were very cute, girlie and classey. There were also a lot of plaids.
Overall I thought fashion week was a hit and I love to watch designers put there creativity to work. The piece that we watched in class I loved that as well. I thought Calvien Klien did well too, with all the symetrical idea and a lot of use with the white. I would give anything to go to one of the fashion shows. If I think its cool just watching it..I can only imagine watching it in person..cool cool =)

Being Earth Friendly...Organic & Enviromental Friendly
When it comes to organic and environmental friendly clothing I have not seen it in the retail stores lately. I worked at the Liz Claiborne Outlet store for three years and out of the three years I have seen only a handful of items come into the store. I think the idea of having organic and environmental friendly items is a great idea, everyone is so into the global warming and these materials will help the world.
Will working at Liz Claiborne I noticed the items that were organic and environmental friendly, it was a little more expensive and they were very delicate items. We had many customers return the organic items. The customer were not aware that these items were organic and they needed special washing direction. Everyone gets so caught up in his or her life they do not take the time to notice the wash instructions. With everyone being in a face paced life I do not think a lot of designer would go to organic or environmental friendly clothing. The main argument would be it is great for the earth, but it is too expensive and time consuming.
Overall to make the world a better place I think that the designers today should look into the organic and environment friendly fabrics. Although it is expensive and time consuming, I think it will be worth will. There is a lot of dyes and pesticides that go into making the fabrics today. It would help when it comes to global warming. I also learned in health class that are bodies are like sponges, so all the harmful chemicals that are put in our ready to wear clothing are absorb in our skin...think about that the next time you go to purchase a ready to wear item.

Favorite Designer
My favorite designer would have to be Juicy Couture. I t was "founded in 1994 ny Pamela Skaist-Levey and Gela Nash Taylor".(www.think fashion.com. 4 september 2008. This brand for me has been a good one for..not only do I enjoy their clothing line, I also enjoy there eye wear. I have two pair of glasses from this particular designer and I love it. I havr gotten some many compliments on the new and trendy eye wear made by juicy couture..The name of my current pair is called"juicy lucy".
What I really love about Juicy Couture is that it is very trendy and it has the very current fashions. The jeans are the best although the price can be on the more exspensive side. The fit of the jean makes up for it. This brand is targeted to the young women and the now generation early 20's and 30. Juicy has a line for all ages from infants, exspexting mothers, and just your everyday trendy women.
The biggest reason why I love love juicy couture is that I also get a employee discount.. I was employeed at Liz claiborne outlet store and we get a discount. The person or persons who took over Liz claiborne brand also owns the juicy couture line as well. So anytime I get a chance I buy there jeans and the cute printed tee's. I love this brand because they have different styles and fashions.
